The Montenegrin Ministry of Finance Feb 27 released a draft bill to implement temporary solidarity contributions on excess profits for companies in 2023 and 2024. The bill includes measures to: 1) impose a 33 percent tax on the profits of covered entities that exceed the last four years’ average profits by more than 20 percent; 2) apply the tax to entities with annual revenue exceeding 5 million euros (US$3 million), in the years preceding the year of assessment; 3) set the filing deadline of June 30; and 4) impose fines of up to 40,000 euros (US$43,495).
