Wyckoff Resident, Bank CFO Named Finance Leader By NJBIZ – Patch

WYCKOFF, NJ — A Wyckoff resident was named a 2023 Leader in Finance by NJBIZ.
Dennis Gibney, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Columbia Bank, was selected as one of New Jersey’s top financial executives who contribute to the success of their companies and communities.
Gibney was cited, Columbia Bank said in a news release, for his extensive experience in strategic planning, financial institution valuations, and mergers and acquisitions. He was chosen by a panel of independent judges based on his involvement in industries and communities, and his achievements, energy and innovative ideas.
He was awarded in the “banking” category, and will be recognized in a ceremony along with the other awardees on April 25 in Somerset.
With more than 25 years experience in banking, Gibney is a “key leader” in Columbia Bank’s growth strategy — which includes, the bank said, increasing the asset base from $5 billion to $10 billion, and navigating four acquisitions within five years.
He also serves as executive sponsor of Columbia Bank’s Young Professionals Employee Resource Group to support the organization’s developing workforce.
A chartered financial analyst with CFA Institute, Gibney worked in investment banking for more than 15 years prior to joining Columbia Bank. He is also a board member at The Phoenix Center, a private school in Nutley serving the needs of students with disabilities.
