Man lured, threatened by woman; loses Rs 1.25 L – Ahmedabad Mirror

A 29-year-old chartered accountant was coerced into paying about Rs 1.25 lakh after a nude woman lured him into taking his clothes off during a video chat, and started blackmailing him with his nude video.
The man, who lives in Ellisbridge and works as a CA in a firm, received a message on Whatsapp on March 6.
Lured by the woman’s photo, he asked her to make a video call. When he picked the call, the woman was already nude and asked him to take off his clothes. She then sent him his nude video, asking to pay Rs 5,000 to delete it. He paid the money but threatening calls kept coming asking for more money. He paid Rs 1,09,999 through Phone Pe and Rs 15,000 through his bank account.
On March 18, he received a call from one Gaurav Malhotra who introduced himself as an SP of Delhi Crime Branch. He claimed his nude video has been made viral on YouTube and that the channel has filed a complaint. Malhotra reportedly said he would arrest him and sought money. But the chartered accountant refused to pay any money to Malhotra.
On Friday, the man filed a complaint with the cybercrime and the probe is on.
