The House and Senate bills include additional general fund spending for workforce development, economic development, and rehabilitation grant programs that assist cities.
House and Senate economic development committees released their omnibus finance bills, which take different approaches but include additional support for several key programs that support cities.
Both the House bill, HF 3028 (Rep. Hodan Hassan, DFL-Minneapolis) and the Senate bill, SF 3035 (Sen. Bobby Joe Champion, DFL-Minneapolis) include various additional general fund appropriations to promote job growth, economic development, and redevelopment.
The League will continue working with the bill authors and conference committee members to ensure city priorities and robust funding for programs remain in the bill.
